NATALIA DOMINGUEZ RANGEL
is an Amsterdam based Composer and Sound Artist.
Multitrack audio installation for 8 speakers and 2 subwoofers.
The use of sound as force and vehicle for exercising power: seductive and violent, abstract and physical, subtle and uncontrollable. Through a wide range of acoustic sources (biotechnical, social, cultural, artistic, conceptual), sound is able to modulate and conduct the physical, affective, and libidinal dynamics of bodies, crowds, and collectives. This is Natalia’s leitmotiv and subject of her artistic research and work, having in mind, however, the ethical and political responsibility of the predetermined use of frequencies in public spaces.
10’01’’ is the will conceived in spatial terms.
10’01’’ stands for spatial clarity, white, white noise, rejection of rigid boundaries, light, natural, digital, cultic, aerial, congestion, space, space, space…
Commissioned by Dag in de Branding (NL) in 2016 and reproduced on Entkunstung Journal by authorization of the artist.
